Bank of America statement to CSV
Drop a Bank of America checking statement PDF below. It's parsed and reconciled in this tab — free, no signup, and nothing is uploaded.
What to expect from Bank of America statements
- Text-based (native) PDFs only — statements you download directly from Bank of America's site or app, not scanned copies.
- Bank of America typically prints a running balance per row, so the full balance-chain check runs.
- Password-protected PDFs are supported — you'll be prompted in-tab.
See the full supported banks matrix for what's verified and what isn't.
Export your Bank of America statement as
CSV for spreadsheets and most accounting-software imports, Excel (.xlsx) for a formatted workbook ready for pivot tables, or QBO for a direct QuickBooks Web Connect import — OFX, QFX, and QIF are also available from the export panel above. Every format is built from the same reconciled transaction list, so the numbers match no matter which one you pick.
How Bank of America's statement layout is actually parsed
Bank of America statements are recognized automatically — no need to tell the tool which bank you're uploading. The parser looks for Bank of America-specific section headings to separate deposits from withdrawals: a section beginning with text matching Deposits and other additions is treated as credits, and one matching Withdrawals and other subtractions as debits. If a statement doesn't match those headings — a redesigned layout, a business rather than personal account — the parser falls back to its bank-agnostic geometric detection rather than failing outright.
- Bank of America statements are recognized from "Bank of America" or "bankofamerica.com" text on the page.
- Checks are listed in their own section on the statement and are recognized and merged into the withdrawal side of the transaction list alongside "withdrawals and other subtractions."
- Bank of America checking statements print a running balance next to each transaction, so the full balance-chain check runs: previous balance plus this row's signed amount is verified against this row's printed balance for every consecutive pair.
- "Member FDIC" and "Bank of America, N.A." boilerplate and page-number footers are recognized as noise and excluded from the transaction list.
Common questions
- Does Bank of America print a running balance per transaction?
- Yes — Bank of America checking statements print a balance after each transaction, so the full balance-chain reconciliation check runs in addition to the opening/closing totals check.
- Are checks included in the export?
- Yes. Checks are listed in a separate section on the statement but are recognized and included in the withdrawal total and the transaction list, in the same reconciled export as everything else.
- What if my Bank of America statement is password protected?
- You'll be prompted for the password in the tab before parsing starts. It's used locally to decrypt the PDF and is never sent anywhere.
